Prosthodontists plays an important role for placement of implant fixtures. However, general dentist are not allowed to do such procedures. If a general dentist would like later on to do some surgery, they need to undergo additional training and pass some tests and get a certification. A general dentist, on the other hand, should never initiate to do dental implants.
