Here’s some news that may turn out to be a black eye for the dental tourism sector. According to a report, dental implants made in China, Mexico, and India may have harmful levels of lead in them. The American Dental Association wants everyone who has seen a dentist outside of the U.S. to see a local dentist and have their reworked teeth checked.
For dentists who outsource their work to other countries, it’s advisable that they check the product before using them on patients. Currently the A.D.A. Is investigating a report of an Ohio woman becoming ill from a product with high levels of lead coming from China.
For patients, please confirm with your dentist if they are using locally produced teeth implants.
